Steve and Wendy grew up in the same two neighborhoods as children. They didn’t attend the same school, but Wendy always had a huge crush on Steve. (If she looked hard enough I’m sure she would find a pencil box or two that still says “I love Steve Birch”) Steve and Wendy’s paths crossed many times. They first dated the summer of 1998, for one year, until Steve thought at the time that hockey was more important. (He quickly realized this was a mistake, and waited patiently for the opportune moment to win his “First and only love” back). After they broke up, they remained friends for 8 years. After 8 years, he finally won her back! When Steve and Wendy went their separate ways back in 1999, they always said that they would one day find each other on the beach of Bora Bora. After about 21 years of knowing each other, they will now be married in Maui, Hawaii and spend their honeymoon on the beaches of Bora Bora!
